This week, two of Falconhead's usual outings changed pace within days of each other. Falconhead Golf Club overseeded its greens Wednesday morning, and its calendar now lists only maintenance notices. Down the road, the Hill Country Galleria's free Friday concert series has no acts listed after October 2. That leaves one big public gathering place within walking distance from mid-November into January. It opens November 13 behind Bee Cave City Hall, and the city trail that leads there begins on Falconhead Boulevard.
The Course Shifted to Its Maintenance Calendar on Wednesday
Falconhead Golf Club overseeded its greens on October 28 and kept the course closed until noon. The club described the work as protecting healthy playing conditions for the season and said it expected no major change to overall playability.
The schedule to know is the driving range. It closes at 4 p.m. every Tuesday for clean-pick and reopens at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The club's monthly calendars list those Tuesday closures for November 3, 10, 17 and 24, then December 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29. The club's November and December calendars show no public holiday event, tournament or dining night. Every entry is a range maintenance notice.
Talon's Bar & Grill still runs on its usual schedule. It's inside the pro shop and open to the public from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., with patio seating and grab-and-go food. On a cool morning it's the closest coffee-and-breakfast stop to the trailhead.
The club has had new owners for about a year. Hanlim Construction bought Falconhead along with Avery Ranch and Teravista in 2025, a deal Connect CRE reported at about $85 million. Two things golfers will notice from the shared ownership:
- Full-privilege memberships, single or family, cover all three courses and come with 10-day advance booking.
- The club's site warns that booking overlapping tee times across the sister courses can get a reservation canceled.
The Lawn Went Quiet in October
For much of the year, the Galleria's free Friday series, Live on the Lawn, was the easy weekend outing a short trip from Falconhead. Its posted lineup ends October 2, with no November or December acts listed.
A larger concert venue is still a long way off. The original Backyard at SH 71 and RM 620 closed in 2008. It reopened farther west in 2010 and closed again in 2014. A proposed 3,700-seat Backyard project, once targeted for early 2024, had still not opened as of Community Impact's September 24, 2026 report.
That leaves the city's rink as the main seasonal event within reach of Falconhead.
One and a Half Miles, Falconhead Boulevard to the Galleria
The City of Bee Cave describes its Hike and Bike Trail as a 1.5-mile multi-use path. It runs from Falconhead Boulevard south along RR 620 to Central Park, then on to the Galleria. When the first segment opened, the Austin American-Statesman described it as a 0.75-mile stretch of 10-foot-wide stabilized crushed granite between Falconhead Boulevard and Central Park, with the Galleria's perimeter trail completing the route.
Central Park is the natural midpoint. Its paved perimeter loop is just over a mile, and the park has restrooms, water fountains, a dog park and shaded play structures. That makes it an easy turnaround for a shorter walk, or a place to stop with kids before going on to the rink. Past the park, the trail carries on to the Galleria, and City Hall sits at 4000 Galleria Parkway.
What's at the End of the Trail, Week by Week
Bee Cave on Ice returns behind City Hall on Friday, November 13, and runs through January 18, 2027. A 50-minute session with skate rental costs $16 plus tax. On Community Night Tuesdays it's $11 plus tax.
| Date | What's happening | Where |

| Fri., Nov. 13 | Rink opens for the season | Behind Bee Cave City Hall |

| Sat., Nov. 28 | Light up the Plaza, 5–8 p.m. | Hill Country Galleria |
| Tue., Dec. 1, 8, 15 | $11 Community Nights | Bee Cave on Ice |

| Tue., Jan. 12 | Final $11 Community Night | Bee Cave on Ice |

Regular rink hours follow the week. Monday through Thursday it's open 3 to 9 p.m., Friday noon to 10 p.m., Saturday and school holidays 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Last sessions start an hour before closing. The city's page also lists shortened holiday hours, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. It labels its Thanksgiving hours with the date 11/27, but Thanksgiving falls on November 26 this year, so check with the city before planning a holiday-week skate around that date.
The busiest night is Saturday, November 28. That's when the Galleria hosts Light up the Plaza from 5 to 8 p.m., with a tree lighting, live music, ice skating, giveaways, face painting and refreshments. Admission and parking are free, and the detailed schedule is still listed as TBA. Free parking helps out-of-town guests who drive in. For anyone starting at Falconhead Boulevard, the trail makes parking a non-issue on the season's most crowded evening.
Tuesdays Line Up Neatly
The club's range calendar and the city's rink calendar overlap on four dates. On November 17 and December 1, 8 and 15, Falconhead's range closes at 4 p.m. for clean-pick, and the rink runs its $11 Community Night. The rink opens at 3 p.m. on weekdays and takes its last Tuesday session at 8 p.m. So on those Tuesdays, a golfer who loses the range at 4 still has the whole evening for the cheapest skate of the season, 1.5 miles away on foot.
After skating, Winston's: Coffee, Provisions & Pizza at 13420 Galleria Circle, Suite A-140, is one of the closer Galleria options. It opened December 3, 2025, so this is its first full holiday season.
What the Galleria Lost, and What East Ladera Will Add
The Galleria lineup looks a little different than it did last winter. Eddie Bauer closed its store at 2912 Hill Country Blvd., Suite F-115, in January 2026.
The next additions nearby won't arrive until well after the rink packs up. Bee Cave approved permit extensions for CAVA and Chipotle on East Ladera Boulevard. Site development was expected to start this month, and both restaurants are estimated to open in May or June 2027. Community Impact gives 13714 East Ladera Blvd. as the address for both CAVA and Chipotle.
